scenes from a funeral
Short Story by Moulika Danak
Moulika Danak writes ads for a living, which mostly means making things sound far more important than they are. And to escape living, she reads, hikes, befriends cats, crows (maybe even lions if they allowed). When not writing ads, she writes poetry, short stories, personal essays, whatever quiets the itch of things unsaid. She also has a habit of predicting the next dialogue while watching films, like a script doctor no one hired. She also moonlights as a professional eavesdropper, purely for research purposes, of course. When not in the Himalayas, she’s busy convincing everyone it’s the best mountain range, as if she’s visited the rest (while secretly hoping it doesn’t get crowded).
