Zahra Amiruddin (b. 1991, India) is an independent writer, photographer, and educator who has been working in the field for a decade with a specialisation in visual practices and contemporary art. Her essays have been published by 1000 Words Magazine, The Alkazi Foundation for the Arts, Vogue, The Hindu, Art India Magazine, and Scroll to name a few. Her main areas of interest include ethnographic studies, astronomy, family histories, critical writing, and personal narratives. Her interest in cultural histories illustrated through photography led her to write the text for a photobook on North Korea titled, Between Doors, by Ted Lau, and she has exhibited her image-based work in India, Greece, South Korea, and Cambodia. She is part of 8:30, a photography collective of nine women collaborating across the country since 2020.
